LO4: Selecting a Suitable Certificate for our Film

I believe that our film, Silent Captive, is a 15A age rating. The BBFC states that mulitiple aspects of our film would not be suitable for younger ages because of a few things that feature in it. There is no use of drugs, nudity, or strong violence in Silent Captive but there is a strong sense of threat from the protagonist's brother, Sam, as he threatens him with phrases that would imply violence against him. There's only a small amount of violence, which can be seen when the protagonist (Oscar) is thrown to the ground. There are also a mild sense of mature themes of loss and guilt that are explored in the film which would belong in something of this age rating. The general tone and narrative may distress a younger person or they may not know what's going on. There is also no strong language or reference to sex at any point in our film, so overall it strikes a good balance that would be suitable for a 15A age rating.
